Perry shows the unique standing of policemen within Victorian Society where they are not accepted by any of the classes, but have become a class unto themselves with their own divisions within- as can be seen with Monk. ' Not as good as her Charlotte/Pitt series, but still a winner. I want to read the whole series! ' - Sherry, I found the crime solving methods to be unique without modern transportation, telephones and so many conveniences of the current day. ' I really enjoyed this Victorian Mystery. ' Can you imagine waking up and not knowing who you are? Fortunately, William Monk is a detective so he can find out unfortunately, he doesn't really like the 'self' he finds.
